Shapir - Chemical Waste Collection Tank
As part of the project, a reinforced FRP tank with an internal ECTFE lining was designed and manufactured for the safe collection and management of chemical effluents at Ashdod Port.
Key Engineering Features:
- Main Structure: Cylindrical FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) vessel with high stiffness modulus, designed for mechanical load resistance and durability in marine environmental conditions.
- Internal Lining: Continuous ECTFE (ethylene chlorotrifluoroethylene) layer, providing superior resistance to abrasion, acids, bases, and solvents.
- Process Connections and Fittings: Designed in accordance with DIN/ASTM standards, incorporating flanges and inlet/outlet connections suitable for variable pressure and temperature operation.
- Anchoring System: Static and dynamic structural calculations performed to prevent buoyancy and structural failure in saturated soil conditions.
Project Objectives:
- Preventing contaminant infiltration into groundwater in the port area.
- Mitigating ecological risks associated with hazardous material leakage.
- Enhancing operational continuity of port facilities through a durable and reliable long-term storage solution.
